A SPECIAL EVENT FOR THE QUEEN'S JUBILEE
On July 1, 2022, the Canada Truffle Association will hold a special community event, to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.
A truffled Bur Oak (Quercus Macrocarpa) has been planted, and a garden is being developed to surround it, featuring a specially created mosaiculture. This unique garden will be inaugurated by the Honorable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
The oak tree is a symbol of longevity, in tribute to 70 years of loyal service rendered by the Queen, and the presence of truffles on the roots of the tree is a mark of appreciation for the late Prince Philip's interest in this amazing fungus.
This special garden is created in collaboration with Puck's Garden, located at 3712 Maple Avenue, Prescott, Ontario.
Puck's Garden will open to the public from 2:00 p.m., and the dedication of the Queen's Garden will take place at 3:15 p.m. Afternoon tea, inspired by the menu created for the celebration of the Queen's Coronation in 1952, will be served.
Puck’s Garden is a being developed as a future botanical garden which will focus on the truffle.
This event is made possible through a financial contribution from the Government of Canada, as well as contributions from Ontario Truffles, Arborinnov, and Anderson Electrical.
